‘Love Cash’
Birdie is an innovative new gifting platform based in LA that enables people to elegantly send cash and a digital card. We worked directly with the founders to reimagine their brand strategy, identity and digital experience. We encouraged Birdie to be vocal about the taboos around cash gifting and create a brand with a powerful tone of voice and stylish vibe.

The identity uses a holographic shimmer that illuminates the graphic elements. Nightlife images celebrate the moments when you receive the gift you really want. We worked with Sharp Type Foundry to modify the typeface Beatrice Headline to make it work in a digital context, but retain the elaborate italic swash variation that gives the brand a contemporary edge. The new symbol for the brand is the tail feathers of an arrow, sending love in cash form.

There is a weird stigma around giving a cash gift. Even though cash is what we really want. Birdie is writing new rules by making cash gifts something you celebrate with a super cool animated card and cash delivered stylishly through the app.
